Out to Camp

September 4-6th 2009: Our friends Dave and Gerri lent us their camp for a weekend getaway at the lake.
We had the whole place to ourselves and had so much fun.

We lounged around in our PJ's all day long - except when we had our bathing suits on!

There was lots of time for playing, lots of time for snuggles,

and lots of time for just being plain silly!

Thanks Dave and Gerri!

People Say We Monkey Around

September 1st - After we went for a nice long walk we spent a couple of hours at Boulevard Lake.

It was MacKenzie's first time at the playground

She didn't quite grasp the concept of going down the slide...

but she had fun anyways!

MacKenzie has been dragging her stuffed rabbit up and down the hallway all day

Nana and Kenzie

August 17th - A couple of last photos before Nana goes home to Nova Scotia
It was a wonderful visit!

Under the Bridge

August 14th - Mom and I took a trip to Minneapolis to go to the Mall of America (the 2nd largest mall in the world). It was my first overnight without MacKenzie and I did very well. I have to admit I did look at some pictures of her the next morning but all in all a very successful trip.
Here we are at about the half way point. Altogether it was about a 6 1/2 hour drive.

We had a little pit stop to stretch and go to the bathroom and then we were back on our way.

Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head

August 11th - Mom came to Thunder Bay to visit for a week. We went blueberry picking with Sarah and stopped to dip our feet in the river.
MacKenzie was having so much fun splashing that she wouldn't look at the camera. So Nana started dropping water on her head to get her to look up. Not only did she love it but it worked too. Your Nana is super smart Onyx!

It was a beautiful day!

and many wonderful flowers

and occassionaly some wildlife and flowers together:-)

Video - 2 Little Feet

Kenzie is walking even better now.

She is almost completely done with the knee walking.

Chubby Checker and " The Twist"

July 24-25th : I won tickets on a local radio station to go to "RetroFest". The weekend was filled with music from the 1960's-1990's. Although it was pretty gloomy all weekend - we got wet a few times - it was a really fun concert.
Nancy was there representing our local member of Parliment Michael Gravelle - and she got wet too!

Once again MacKenzie is dancing with Nancy.

The Headliner for the weekend was none other than Chubby Checker and boy did he put on a show. Part of the weekend pass was an opportunity to meet him in person but after the show was over he was too tired to meet with us - no big suprise , he is almost 70 years old.

Although Willy was a super friendly Mascot, MacKenzie was a little bit afraid of him. But she got a sticker and all was well.

Not bad for a free weekend.

Video - Festa Italian

We met up withour friends Ralph and Stacy, Nancy and the Lindemans at Festa Italian. After some yummy homemade pasta we settled down for the entertainment. MacKenzie especially enjoyed dancing with Nancy.

Teddy Bears Picnic

July 14th 2009 - Kenzie and I went to the Teddy Bears Picnic at Vickers Park to see Fred Penner sing. We shared an icecream cone and danced in the grass. It was a hot day and it was nice to be sitting in the cool shade of a big tree.

Thunderfest Weekend

July 10th-12th - This past weekend was the annual Thunderfest Street Party.
We decided to go on Friday night to listen to the Reggae music.

We've always enjoyed reggae music but since we've been to Jamaica twice we enjoy it even more.

MacKenzie loves to dance so she really liked the great beat....

but not as much as she likes her icecream cone.

Walking with Sarah

My friend Sarah and I have been going for walks 3 times a week. Here we are at the golf course
There are beautiful sights to see at the Marina. MacKenzie enjoyed spinning the telescope around and around.

Thunder Bay has alot of Conservation areas. This one has cascading waterfalls that people slide down in the summer.

My little prodigy!

Video - Kenz Playing the Piano

MacKenzie and I went over to our friend Kim's house yesterday. Don and Marilyn was a beautiful piano there and MacKenzie couldn't get enough of it.

(I know it's sideways but it's still really great)

"Our True North Strong and Free"

Canada Day 2009 - MacKenzie loved daddy's festive party hat.
Red was the theme of the day and MacKenzie did not disappoint anyone.

MacKenzie's first golf lesson from daddy.

More knee walking.

Jaia and Onyx

June 25th 2009 - When your dad stopped by to visit us in Thunder Bay he gave me some of the pictures he had taken of his visit with you on Thursday. This was one of my favorites.

Video - Jaia and MacKenzie

I believe Jaia thinks I'm taking a picture when I am actually taking a video. Hehehe

Kenz is dancing with her Uncle Jaia - How cute are they?

Jaia Comes for a Visit

June 29th 2009 - Your dad was in Montreal for a few months to see you Onyx. So on his way back to Vancouver he stopped by to meet MacKenzie for the first time.
They hit it off right away - kisses all around!

Jaia giving MacKenzie her first driving lesson.

We went out for breakfast at Naxos - good sharing MacKenzie!

It was time for your dad and Sarah to hit the road, they still have a long drive ahead of them.

We had such a nice visit :-)

Sunscreen Anyone?

June 26th 2009 - MacKenzie is learning early to protect herself from the sun:
a hat, all natural sunscreen and......

sitting in the shade as much as possible.

Our friends the Setalas and Lindemans came over for a swim.
