New Brunswick Bound

The girls and I had our vacation (along with mom)  in Saint John New Brunswick where most of mom's family lives. It was Alexa's introduction to our big extended family.

This is my Aunt Kelly and Uncle John along with my cousin's Jack and Teddy. So to you Onyx they would be your Great Aunt and Uncle along with (I think) your 1st cousin's once removed.

The same goes for below - your Great Uncle Jacque and 1st Cousin's once Removed - Eric, Michelle and Ray (with their families)

Your Great Uncle Dan and 1st Cousin's once Removed Ben and Daniel

Your Nana with Alexa hanging out in Kelly's kitchen

We went out to the lake for the afternoon - This was Alexa's first ride in a boat

This is your great Grandmother Flora (my dad's mom). The girls were drawn to her immediately and we had a really nice afternoon visit. She had all sorts of stories of when I was a little girl and the time we spent with her.

Hanging out with mom on the beach right by where she grew up

Mom is always up for an adventure

God's Creativity

This is a White-Marked Tussock Moth Caterpillar in our backyard.
I see this and it causes me to ponder God's creativity and diversity in Creation.
It's pretty marvelous!!!!

Kitty Bonding

Alexa and Clancey are having some nice snuggle  time on the couch

that is, until MacKenzie came along and joined them

CLE Fair

Every year the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition comes to Thunder Bay. This is the first year that MacKenzie was interested in going on any of the rides.

and she went on lot and lots of them!

I would say the carousel of horses was her favorite

Followed very closely by the airplanes, of course

Having a fun time at the fair

That is one big ferris wheel!!!!!!

Grand Marais

Grand Marais is a little fishing/ tourist village in Minnesota about  an hour and a half from us. We occasional go there in the summer  for a family fun afternoon

Skipping stones, eating "The Worlds Best Donut", watching the sailboats go by and roaming around the tourist shops fill our day

Playground Fun

Swimming in August 2012

MacKenzie's friends Andrew and Hannah came over for a swim

Tummy Time

It seems only right that Alexa's tummy time mat should be an airplane.

In retrospect we should have tried to find an orange one to match the plane that daddy flies

It's all the same to Alexa I suppose. Who is having a good time regardless of the color

Cooling Down with Dad

Another beautiful August day

Sister Love

I am really amazed at how quickly these two bonded. MacKenzie loved her baby sister right away (actually before she was even born) and Alexa just adores her big sister.

More Katarina Setala Photos

Our good friend Katarina (who was just starting her personal photography portfolio) took some really wonderful shots of Alexa when she was 3 months old.

Sunny July 2011

It's true that babies need lots of love and attention......and sometimes both of those things come in the form of snuggles with daddy

Near the end of the month we spent a day out at the lake with our good friends Georgia and Annika. Ever since MacKenzie was a baby they have had a special bond. This was MacKenzie's first time on a Jet Ski - she didn't like it very much!

Not quite old enough to go on a jet ski - but Alexa loved hangin' out in the shade

Chilling out in the house on a hot day

Genesis 9 :12-13  "This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth."

This is Mrs.T and Mr.Paul (as MacKenzie calls them). They are such amazing people. They are true gems and love us unconditionally. Their daughter came with their  grandsons to ThunderBay for a visit and joined us for an afternoon of lounging by the pool.

As per usual, PE is clowning around in the "shark attack" pool toy

On a more relaxed note : Lexi and I are hanging out in the shade

Home in Nova Scotia

June 2011 - We went home to Nova Scotia so everyone could meet Alexa

and to see how much MacKenzie had grown too.
It was a beautiful visit. All of the flowers were in bloom and the weather was wonderful
